I was driving on Deerfoot south at around 5 am. I must have been close to Southland but I do not remember if I was on the stretch that goes east for a bit. The object in question appeared out of nowhere high in my view and descended extremely fast, I believe much faster than what terminal velocity would allow. There was a slight curve to the descent near the end (kind of like the letter J). It was very bright without a tail and at the very end it seemed like it blinked and then it dropped bellow my view at the horizon. It seemed to be quite far, beyond the city limits. It left me quite puzzled and I am not sure if I was on the south stretch or the east stretch of Deerfoot at that moment. So the object may have descended somewhere between Calgary & Okotoks or Calgary & Indus.
